BAC April 2005 News & Digest

Hello Bicycle Access Council members,

Here's a news flash that should not be missed!

The Bicycle Access Council hosted the Third Annual Pennsylvania Bike Club Conference March 26 in York, PA. Eleven bike clubs participated to discuss "Best Practices" and networking with other club officers. Was your club there?

Clock Watchers...

Just a reminder of the April 3 time change to Daylight Saving Time. We wouldn't want any BAC members to show up late for those Sunday club rides. Clocks move forward--Spring Ahead!

Want to know more about Daylight Saving Time? Check out.

IT'S ALMOST HERE...Bike Month and Bike-to-Work Week/Day.

May is Bike Month. May 16-20 is Bike-to-Work week. May 20 is Bike-to-Work day. Are you committed to commuting?

Rack 'em Up...

The Bicycle Access Council will help York's rabbittransit(tm) company roll out a bus bike rack promotion next month.

York, PA has nearly 100% of their fixed route buses equipped with bike racks. Bikes ride free with each paying passenger fare.

See www.rabbittransit.org

Do you use bike racks on transit buses? What's your experience?

One Century per Century...

May, 2005 will mark the 100th Anniversary of the creation of the Pennsylvania State Police. To commemorate this historic occasion, there will be a State Police Metric Century Celebration Ride held on Sunday, May 1, 2005, at the Airpark in Hershey, PA.

The next PSP Metric Century will be held May 2105, rain or shine.

Ride Planner...

Be sure to check the BAC Bike Club Events page for upcoming rides hosted by Pennsylvania bike clubs. There is no charge to list events for non-profit clubs and organizations. Send yours to webmaster@BicycleAccess-PA.org
